Hiring a photographer is one thing. Booking one who already has a dedicated shooting space is one of the most overlooked ways to save yourself money and a whole lot of hassle.
Here's what usually happens: you find a photographer on Instagram, and either they book a studio and pass the cost on to you, or they leave it to you to find and book the space yourself. Either way you're coordinating two separate bookings, and if it's your first time shooting somewhere, that back-and-forth adds up fast.
Some studios solve this by offering a photographer as part of the booking. I think that's the best way to go, but before you book, a few things are worth checking:
Can you see the photographer's work? If their portfolio isn't easy to find, ask. Request a few samples and make sure their style matches the look you're going for.
Can you talk to them directly? If you're booking through the studio, ask whether you can speak with the photographer first. It's the fastest way to get a feel for their process and personality, and whether they're someone you'll enjoy working with.
What's actually included? Beyond the space and the photographer, what else comes with the session? Are extra backdrops and add-ons included, or billed separately? At a lot of studios they're an extra charge.
At Studio Kin, you can book the studio, a dedicated photographer, or both in one package. No coordinating two bookings, no surprise fees. Every backdrop option is included free of charge, and we'll walk through your concept with you beforehand to build a plan that brings your vision to life.
